Isprava, a distinctive company that owns upscale homes in Goa, has its own method of fostering creativity and communication. In this instance, the clients were only known to the designer Nishita Kamdar and her team through the brief and not in person. The thriving hair salon chain's owners from Mumbai had a very straightforward request: they wanted a place to call their own away from home, an oasis where they could unwind, regroup, and reconnect. The process became fascinating since there was a lot to study and play with—interior styles, businesses and their ideologies, landscape, and everything in between—because the brief was straightforward but clear.

At first glance, the villa reveals the key element of the Goan-Portuguese architectural landscape. Upon first glance, you begin to see it further—cute tiny windows, porches, verandahs, small water features, in short, all those charming things that invite one to stop and unwind for a bit. As you enter the white villa, you are greeted with a foyer that leads to the living area, which has views of the verandah, yard, and pool. A corner of the living area has a beautiful IPS and stone inlay flooring that virtually glows with the first sunbeam. The light is complemented by amusing wall decals of trees and birds that welcome you with surprise. There are three individual bedrooms and a bathroom on the first level.

What better motivation could there be than the landscape of the location, which was in Goa. The mood and vision boards quickly began to centre on the colours and materials taken from nature, and things rapidly began to revolve around them. The inspirations came from colour choices with a tropical theme, considerations for maximising sunlight, and a firm commitment in using natural and local materials whenever possible. The residence features tones of blue, green, and brown infused in salvaged wood, rattan, planters, and leather-finished Shahabad stone because the designer wanted the materials to coexist and not overwhelm each other.
